With only 16 games since the retirement of the great Dutchman, United must be wishing he had never hung up his gloves. De Gea has real potential but is so young, and prone to mistakes, not to mention lacking the presence needed in the area at times, and Van Der Sar simply excelled in everything he did. Fans must wonder what had been had the Dutchman stayed one more season, especially with the injuries in defence and such young players coming into the side.
