To be fair to the Croatian midfielder I’m sure he thought he was going to get a starring role in Spurs’ first team when he signed for them, such was the praise from Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp. However since his move in 2009 the Croatian has not only failed to cement a place but saw himself fall behind new signings such as Van der Vaart and Steven Pienaar. It seems only due to the injury problems of the latter thatb he has seen any game time whatsoever yet his desire to move away from the club appears less than apparent despite the competition for places and his order in it.
