Much like Chris Samba, Cahill was subject to strong enquiries from a number of top clubs during the summer, and expect this to reignite towards the January window. The player is not short on quality and has bundles of talent as a defender, and in order to really be a contender for a starting place in Euro 2012, a move to a bigger club is needed. Whether this will be at Christmas or in the summer is debatable, but a transfer is only a matter of time for the central defender.
