Wrights goalkeeping displays for Ipswich in the early 2000’s brought him to the attention of Arsene Wenger who was in the hunt for an English goalkeeper. Touted as the long-term successor to David Seaman his career went on a steady decline after his solitary season at Highbury, which was littered with mistakes and under-par performances. Spent five years at Everton afterwards but just over 70 appearances for the Toffee’s. Now playing for Sheffield United in League One. He did pick up two caps for England before his move to the Gunners!
