“I have met with Fernando, he is not for sale”

|

Roy Hodgson has spoken about his first meeting with Liverpool striker Fernando Torres. Although it was only a short conversation because he had to leave to meet up with players at the Switzerland training camp, he felt he had a good discussion with the player. He said to reporters in Bad Ragaz.:

“I have met with Fernando. I found him to be a very pleasant man and we had a nice conversation. As far as we are concerned he is a Liverpool player and we want him to remain a Liverpool player. He is not for sale and we don’t welcome any offers for him. We want to keep him. My conversation with him was only short because I had to leave to come to the training camp in Switzerland. We spoke about football, the World Cup, his injury, and I told him how much I am looking forward to working with him. Christian Purslow was also at the meeting and chatted to Fernando for a lot longer after I left but my chat with him was only about football matters.”

Torres is currently recovering from a torn adductor and he should be fit within three weeks.

Thats the spirit Mr. Hodgson. He is a liverpool player and Torres needs to know that. Liverpool isn’t begging him to stay, he is a liverpool player with a contract. These modern day managers and club owners need to make players know they aren’t afraid of them and their demands. I am not and will never be a fan of ManU (MY WIFE IS) but hats off to SAF he let them know who is the boss either you stay and shut it or leave. Roy put down your foot and these premadonnas. I rate Players who are loyal to their club – del piero, raul, totti, maldini, giggs, scholes, puyol, baresci, kahn. What they have in common -Loyalty

Agree with most of what you say, Kevin. my I also point out at how dignified Hodgson comes across. Think we have lacked that in previous years.

Anyway, you may wish to ask supporters of Karlsruhe, who played in the same division at the time, about the loyalty of Kahn. He left them with two of their other promising players at the time (Scholl and Kreuzer I think) as soon as the biggest gun in Germany came calling. Not exactly loyalty.

IF YOU LOOK AT LIVERPOOLS PLAN WHICH IS NOW BECOMING VERY CLEAR…

It looks like that liverpool and the board are trying to give roy support, dare i say that!..

Sell Mascherano and with the money he has been given (big deal – 12mill) re invest that into the team. its not ideal but i tell you all.

1, if the little greedy argie p***k wants out then i will drive you and him at bus stop.

2, Take the best bid and drive the price as high as we can say 35 mill, remember he is captian of his home team and has 2 years left on his deal with us! we have the cards.

3, bring in 3 players that will help give the team more options and more depth.

id would like the mascherano deal to finance the

1, joe cole deal( i.e ) the signing on fee.
2, Turan- how many times do we need a player to say he wants to play for us, this guy is a must. he would cost 14 mill as i know that for a fact.
3, Eva banega, what a young player this guy is, and we could use him in many roles for the team and play him with gerro too, this guy could be got for around 9 mill, great buy.

4, with the kitty the 12 mill get crouch back, at least he knows the club and is great with gerro and can play with nando, english too,

5, Sell insua, degen, itandge, darby, plessies, nemeth, cavalerli, el zhar, ngog, – theres around 17 mill –

6, buy cissohko the left back.

    REINA
    JOHNSON CARRAGHER AGGER CISSOHKO

    J.COLE GERRARD BANEGA TURAN

    CROUCH TORRES

WHAT A TEAM AND WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK ,,,,

I would argue about bringing Crouch back, though. There are better players for 12mil. And, of course, selling half the squad for one left back.
