Whilst the Ivorian defender is not in the last year of his contract he seems to be surplus to requirements at Manchester City. He has expressed his desire to leave and Manchester City seems willing to let him go. His contract status may not mean he will be sold for a cut price but as City look to cut back on the wage bill they should be willing to let him go for a reasonable price. Toure is a proven Premier League winner and was part of Arsenal’s ‘invincible’ defence that went the season unbeaten. Toure is still only thirty and has at least another three years at the top of his game.
