Kalou’s contract is up at the end of the season and having slipped further down the pecking order behind Daniel Sturridge and Juan Mata the Ivorian doesn’t look like getting a new contract any time soon. The twenty-six year old can play either on the wing or as a striker but has had a mixed time at Chelsea. Known to some Chelsea fans as Salomon Kalouless for his consistent poor performances his form this season has at least shown that there is more to come. His goal against Newcastle was his third in three games and at only twenty-six he has his best years still to come. Arsenal have been linked with him for the past few seasons and it will be interesting to see whether anyone comes in for the striker in January.
