LFC Youth Watch – Michael Ngoo Match Report v Stoke

|

12 Apr – Liverpool 3 – 0  Stoke City (Premier Academy League) – Michael Ngoo was in fantastic form as Liverpool Under 18s beat Stoke City 3-0 away. Rodolfo Borrell’s men have been on a good run of late and have not lost since the FA Youth Cup defeat to Watford back in February. The win against Stoke was the Academy side’s fourth in a row and they had young striker Ngoo to thank for the three points. The 17 year old former Southend trainee put the young Reds into the lead with a superb solo goal in the first half and he followed it up with a second goal in the second half. His second came after a mix up in the Potters defence and Ngoo slotted away from close range after a pass from winger Tom Ince. Raheem Sterling sealed victory after he came on as a substitute with 10 minutes to go, converting the rebound to his own penalty kick. The victory leaves Liverpool 6th in the Premier Academy League Group C with 35 points from 24 games. They have actually now won as many as they have lost this season with 11 wins, 2 draws and 11 losses.
