Hungarian Striker likely to stay in Greece

|

AEK Athens are looking into the possibility of extending Krisztian Nemeth’s loan spell at the Greek club. The Liverpool youngster has been on a season long loan in Greece and he has scored 3 goals in 12 appearances during his time at the club. Athens have been impressed enough with the Hungarian’s performances that they would like to extend the striker’s stay for a further year. Newly elected AEK president Stavros Adamidis will be in England this week to discuss the deal as well as trying to develop better connections with the club to allow further players to join the Athens club. Nemeth himself is said to be keen to stay in Greece as he believes it is his best chance of first team football, the Hungarian said:

“The new president told me that he wants to keep me at AEK and that’s why he’s going to travel to Liverpool. I’m fine in Athens but the two clubs must negotiate and make a deal.”

We will see over the coming weeks whether Liverpool agree to the extension or whether they wish the player to return to Anfield next season.
