Is Serbian Striker Still On His Way To Anfield?

|

milan jovanovicRecent reports have suggested that Milan Jovanovic’s move to Liverpool had stalled over doubts raised by manager Rafa Benitez, but the 28 year old Standard Liege striker has confirmed he still expects to make his move to Anfield in the Summer. The hold up over confirmation on the Bosman free transfer is over the work permit. The Serbian has played 24 times for his country, and has scored 10 goals in 25 appearances for Liege this season but the delay over signing a pre-contract agreement has raised doubts over the move. Jovanovic has tried to quash such rumours with his latest statement:

“For me, it’s sorted. The only thing is that my work permit is not yet in order. But I have until June to get it. I’m at ease. Next season I will play at Liverpool.”

It seems more likely than not then that Jovanovic will be lining up alongside Fernando Torres next season.
