Rumour Mill: Gunners looking at Babel?

According to both CaughtOffside.com and ClickLiverpool.com, Arsenal are considering a bid for Liverpool’s Dutch forward Ryan Babel. Arsene Wenger has apparently always been a keen admirer of the 23 year old and with the Reds looking to offload some players this summer, the Gunners may look to pounce to get their man for a good price. Managing Director Christian Purslow has stated that no players will be allowed to leave before a new manager is appointed, but the websites believe that when a new manager is in place, a price tag of £10-12million could be placed on the player. An influential factor in the move maybe Robin van Persie, who is a close friend of Babel’s, and would no doubt have put in a good word about him to his manager despite the 23 year old having three inconsistent seasons at Anfield.
