Does this local lad have what it takes? Why can’t the Reds play away? And why Roy needs to find his own FAB FOUR – This week on live4Liverpool.com

|

A mixed bag this week for Liverpool fans. The display against Birmingham City last weekend could be best described as drab, but the performance by a largely reserve Reds side against Steaua Bucharest on Thursday raised some optimism. Raul Meireles’s first start for the club along with good displays from Joe Cole and Jay Spearing give us some good cause for hope going into the encounter against Manchester United tomorrow. We have had a variety of different blogs this week from our writers. Ben Sumner talks about Liverpool’s away day blues in “Liverpool must start to play away!” Kevin Messam talks about the problems that Fernando Torres is facing in “What Torres really needs is support” while I have focused on a number of different subjects including an article about Jay Spearing at the top of the article list, asking whether his performance against Bucharest is enough to push him up the pecking order. Many thanks to David Tyrer, Mark Wilson, Elliott Tunstall, Kevin Messam, Grayson Dowding, Karl Thyer, Ben Sumner, Niall Sherry, Andrew Blanche, Karl Matchett and John Toher for writing for the site this week. Enjoy reading.
