Liverpool’s Head of Sports Medicine and Sports Science Dr Peter Brukner believes Joe Cole will not be fit for another week until the clash with Tottenham Hotspur next weekend:
“Joe will need another week He’s nearly there but his hamstring just hasn’t come good as quickly as we might have hoped. He’ll be back in full training at the start of next week and we’d anticipate he’ll be available for the Tottenham game on Sunday week.”
Brukner also praised the efforts of Reds full back Fabio Aurelio to get back to full fitness:
“It’s nice to have some good news. Fabio’s worked incredibly hard. I think we all know he’s had a horrendous run with injuries in the last two or three years and he got injured again a few weeks ago. He’s worked very hard to get himself right. He’s trained for the last week or so and played the majority of the reserve game on Tuesday, and I’m happy to report that he’s come through that well. He’s available for first-team selection this week and hopefully his injury problems are in the past.”
