Our most important player over the last two years?

|

The only downside to Reina’s rise from relative unknown to – arguably – our greatest ever keeper, is that he is only Spain’s second choice. Over the last 5 years, since his debut in August 2005, he could easily have racked up 60+ caps for his country. Iker Casillas being a living legend makes it difficult but if Reina was a Barca or Real player there would be no doubt that he would be Spain’s no.1 and simultaneously hailed as the World’s best.

In my opinion though, he already is the worlds best, despite his Spanish predicament, and has been for the past 2 years at least. He has grown more mature and assured in the English game. He is fast, agile (both physically and mentally), a master shot-stopper and has supreme distribution. On top of this, he is a very talented footballer and could be a competent outfield player if he ever decided on a change of position. With all this in mind, he is also now taken for granted even by leading pundits and the media. It is for these reasons I believe he is our most improved player of the past few seasons.

With Reina’s very swift declaration a few weeks ago that he had no intention of leaving Liverpool, despite media ‘exclusives’ to the contrary, it became clear that not only do we have a bonafide, certified, without doubt World-Class goalkeeper but that we also have a class human being at the heart of our club too.

reina also does a very good impression of a statue-such as his brilliant performance at Old Trafford where he gifted Berbatov a hat-trick. The same Berbatov has not scored since against supposedly inferior goalies.

In response to Steve I have been a Liverpool fan for 33 years. Reina was also brilliant for the first goal against Stoke. Reina should have had a cap on in the secondhalf against Arsenal-he might have been dazzled by the sun when he gave away the goal.

Why pepople accusing raina and torres whenever we loose,do you forgot his saves? in recent against chel, that was a class and only casilas would do that.. We will realise his importance when he leaves, and that will be a sad day for LFC?
I am bit surprised no one is complaining about carra. He is old and finished. The main reason for our downfall in Roy and benitez. Benitez because he day he started to criticise SAF media gone crazy on him. He started to do wrong substitutions which cost a title.
Now the past is past we have look forward and what we need is change in manager position.

  • The next time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I imply, I do know it was my choice to learn, but I really thought youd have one thing fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about one thing that you may fix if you werent too busy on the lookout for attention.
