Liverpool are reportedly keen on Airdrie United’s 16 year old Tom Watt, according to the People. Reds scouts watched the player play for Celtic Under 17s against the Merseyside Club as Watt is currently on trial at the Glasgow club. Watt is in high demand north of the border as he is also set to have a trial with Celtic’s city rivals Glasgow Rangers in the near future. Airdire boss Jimmy Boyle feels that Watt wil get a great deal of experience training with the Glasgow clubs:
“We received lots of positive feedback from Celtic. They say he worked very hard. Rangers want to take a look at him as well, so he will go in there for a couple of days. If it’s going to improve his fitness and help his football education then it’s going to benefit Airdrie.”
Boyle has already played Watt in 13 first team matches, and will be bracing for bids perhaps from the Reds and the Old Firm clubs.
