According to The People, Rennes and France defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila is a target for Aston Villa as well as Liverpool. The paper believes that Gerard Houllier will use his French connections to pip the Reds to the midfielder, who have also been tracking the £9million rated 20 year old. M’Vila was part of the French starting eleven that beat England at Wembley last Wednesday, and although he impressed Roy Hodgson who was attending the match, Villa are quietly confident of stealing a march on their Anfield rivals. M’Vila has attracted the interest of many clubs, including Liverpool, whose new Director of Football Strategy Damien Comolli has been tracking a number of French stars.
