I think there are more positives than negatives coming out of this week for Liverpool FC, despite only taking 1 point from two games. The match at White Hart Lane against Tottenham suggests some hope for the future in the improvement of our away performances. We had enough opportunities in the first half to put the game out of sight, while in the second half we backed off Spurs a little too much and allowed them to get some confidence. A more positive outcome came from the 1-1 draw away at Steaua Bucharest on Thursday night. With a group of young players chosen for the Europa League tie, not much was expected of them, but they got a draw in difficult conditions against a respected team, allowing the Reds to finish top of their group with a game to spare. The blogs this week have summed up this feeling that we are improving. We welcome back Alex Hess who writes about the “Positives and Negatives” from the Spurs match while regular writer David Tyrer reflects on how Liverpool are a “Team of Two Halves.” I on the other hand have written articles on Lucas Leiva and asked whether our recent performances have left Roy Hodgson with a “Right Captain’s Dilemma.” Thanks to John Toher, David Tyrer, Mark Wilson, Kevin Messam, Karl Thyer and Alex Hess for writing for the site this week. Have fun reading!
