The attributes that Suarez possesses are also why teams such as Manchester United and Spurs have looked at the player in the past. I am certain that manager Kenny Dalglish, Director of Football Damien Comolli and his scouts, have done their homework on the player, and decided he has what it takes to succeed in England. Suarez is best suited to a supporting striker role, coming into midfield to link up and make a nuisance of himself outside of the penalty area and dragging defenders away from their own goal. This creativity and trickery in midfield, as well as having a lethal touch in front of goal, is something that Comolli and Dalglish have certainly looked at, and decided he can be an important player in turning around Liverpool’s fortunes.
In Kenny Dalglish’s first three matches in charge though, he has reverted to the 4-5-1/4-2-3-1/4-3-3 formation of Rafa Benitez. Playing either Gerrard or Meireles off Torres with Kuyt and Maxi out wide, he is using a system which best fits the players available to him. The arrival of Suarez would mean that Dalglish would have to reconsider his strategy. No doubt Suarez would be best playing off Torres rather than as a back up or replacement for him, and that would of course mean a reversion to the 4-4-2 system which was troublesome under Roy Hodgson.
In addition to the negative set up and stand off approach, the 4-4-2 under Roy was never best suited to the players available. We have no natural wingers at the club and the wide areas would need pace added to them if the system is going to work. That’s why I believe Suarez would be just one piece of the jigsaw. The signing of Suarez needs to be followed swiftly by a winger, or otherwise there could be some issues with how to fit in the Uruguayan striker over the next few months.

he could play in a 4-2-3-1 behind torres or as a left fwd in a 4-3-3 he is versatile…so nay bother. The more perdanent question is where would K.HONDA fit in….?
Suarez: Up front next to Torres in a 4-4-2 or on either wing in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.
Honda: Left sided midfielder in 4-4-2, back up for Gerrard as a CAM.
if we can get suarez and a genuine winger(maybe young), 4-4-2 wud work well…

even though this team lacks a genuine defensive midfielder, its offensive line wud be the best in the league..
Gerrard does not have the tactical know how & discipline to dictate the game from central midfield. Nor does he have the energy to go up & down. his best position is coming off the right wing or play behind Torres.
“we need to have a club that is younger” – Tom Werner
David Wheater going to Bolton is very interesting? Don’t be surprised if some of the older fringe players (Kuyt, Kyrgiakos, Maxi, Poulson) are phased out!
Jamie Carragher is 33 next week and needs to be put under more pressure for his place.
Liverpool immediately need 4 players to push on!
1) Gary Cahill (25) for Liverpool and not Arsenal?
2) Luis Suarez (23) Nearly done!
3) Charles N’Zogbia (24) OR Ashley Young (25) OR Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (17) OR Marko Marin (21) OR Eljero Elia (23) any one of them! Would love any two.
4)Charlie Adam (25) Maybe not needer right away but would be good in a Liverpool shirt! Proper footballer.
5) Stephen Warnock (29) on loan but he knows Liverpool and the demands.

What do you think?
Need to get a LB such as Coentraoe or Taiwo…young & attacking. Gary Cahill seems like a good replacement for Carra – to play alongside Agger.
Luis Suarez is a must buy and there is no problem fitting him into the team. There are two options as to how Kenny can fit him in:
Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Aurelio
Kuyt Meireles Gerrard Cole
Suarez
Torres
Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Aurelio
Meireles Lucas Gerrard
Kuyt Torres Suarez
i like the second formation better cos it is more balanced as it has has lucas as the defensive mid, n’ cole hasn’t done anything to deserve a place in the team..
but the problem with this team is that it has no width and kuyt’s goal scoring ability up front is debatable…

When Torres is not playing is Suarez worth having then? he is not going to play a lone striker role successfully.
Could he be used out wide occassionally thats a possibility me thinks.
no more midfielders please or we can have 4 defensive midfielders 3 holding midfielders and 3 attacking midfielders, we could have the deepest stongest midfield in football.
we actually need two strikers (goalscores) not one
