The Dalglish Effect: Who has been re-vitalised by King Kenny?

|

Lucas Leiva – Continues to improve as a holding midfield player but I still have question marks as to whether he can become the midfield destroyer that I feel we need alongside Gerrard or Meireles in the middle. Dalglish Effect: 5/10

Raul Meireles – A complete revelation under Dalglish. His upturn in form has been down to the fact he is actually started playing in his favoured position in the middle. Dalglish Effect: 10/10

Steven Gerrard – Has only played one and a bit games under King Kenny so it is too early to tell but Dalglish’s positive style of play, should lead to greater outlets for Gerrard’s creative brilliance. Dalglish Effect: 5/10

Fernando Torres – Positive attacking play from the team, combined with perhaps an arm round the shoulder from Kenny, has seen the Spaniard back to his old self. Dalglish Effect: 9/10

Martin Kelly – Was given opportunities under Hodgson, but Kenny seems to have total faith in the young lad by starting him consistently at right back. A threat going forward but sometimes weak when coming up against a quick winger, Kelly is learning and gaining essential first team experience at a young age. Dalglish Effect: 8/10

Christian Poulsen – Was actually cheered off by the Anfield crowd against Fulham last night. Working hard and slowly improving. Dalglish Effect: 7/10

Joe Cole – Has not featured under Kenny Dalglish and an unused sub in Liverpool’s last 3 Premier League matches. Will he get his chance to prove himself? Dalglish Effect: 0/10

Raul I think has definately been the biggest success. He’s looked a little consistent since he came because of Woy insisting on playing him on the right when Dirk ain’t there.
Poulsen has looked decent as well.
Johnson is starting to look like a full-back and not the winger alot of people think he is. I think his new haircut must take some credit though!!!!
And of course, Nando. Looked a little jaded last night but he’s started to look like the player we all love.

Now I think it’s time for Joe Cole and Milan Jovanovic to show what they’re made of. Christian Poulsen has done well since Kenny’s taken charge and other fringe players like Cole and Jova should now be given a chance and prove that they’re good enough for Liverpool. Have to agree on Meireles and Torres, they’ve been nothing short of fantastic since Kenny has come in.
