Gallen compares Sterling to Barca star

|

QPR Head of Youth Development Steve Gallen believes the sky is the limit for Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling. Gallen spent a lot of time with Sterling before his move to the Reds last season. He told talkSPORT:

“There’s a lot of words that spring to mind when I think about the kid, first of all he’s an absolutely lovely kid off the pitch. On the pitch he’s just a winner, he’s hungry and he’s got some desire. All he cares about is winning, that’s all he cares about. Nothing fazes him. I think he can just keep going and going, it’s hard to compare him to anybody, you don’t want to mention certain names. I watched Arsenal v Barcelona last night and there’s someone on the Barcelona team that you think, hold on, he could be in that [mould]. He was playing in my under 18 team when he was 14, he was special, no doubt about that.”

Sterling was included in the squad for the team’s trip to Prague but didn’t make his debut in the Europa League match last night.
