The Daily Mail is reporting that one time Liverpool target Sylvain Marveaux is close to signing a pre-contract agreement with Newcastle. The Rennes winger is out of contract in the Summer and is looking for a move away from the French club. Marveaux was seen in the director’s box for Liverpool’s defeat to Wolves back in late December but it now looks likely he will sign for Newcastle. The 24 year old has not played for Rennes since November and it was expected he would move in the January transfer window but it looks as if Alan Pardew will sign him on a Bosman in the summer instead.
