The Words of Fernando Torres That Made Us So Angry

|

Roy departed Anfield with minimal fuss, much like his arrival.  Rumours started to circulate again, transfer window approaching.  Fernando was happier under the direction of KD, wasn’t he? Yet Torres again, on January 10th 2011, just three  and a bit weeks ago,  the striker reiterated his commitment to Liverpool FC. This time he said:

“My head is in Liverpool and on helping save our season. I am professional and I always fulfil my deals. I haven’t considered leaving, although in football that depends on the club.”

Surely the flashing of rubles would make no difference?  Apparently not.  The adoration of the fans, the cult status and love shown to Torres would count for nothing.  Chelski bid £35 million.  Which leg were they hoping to purchase?  Liverpool rejected the unacceptable offer for their most precious asset.  Then a development I certainly didn’t foresee; the player submitting a transfer request.  Suddenly the game changes, defence vs attack.  Can LFC  repel the attack? The final whistle blows.  Torres departs for Roman’s Chelski.  He got what he desired.  Suddenly the quotes appear. He told Chelsea TV:

“It’s the kind of team I like to play against. It’s the kind of team I want to play for . This is the target for every footballer – to try to play for one of the top clubs in the world and I can do it now. I have to be very, very happy as I am. I just want to be at the level I’m supposed to stay at. It’s a great club with a great responsibility. I’m prepared for the challenge.”

Murmurings from a spoilt child?  Dummy, toys and all the rest thrown from the cot.  Promises broken. Thanks for the goals Fernando.  Chelski fans take note…words are just words.

I have had enough of our season so im jumping ship too – cya all at LFC – lol lol. If only it was that easy, but not not that fickle.

Fortunately thats not the LFC way – one for all and all for one.

We all got played by Torres since the season we finished 2nd. The following season he was injured and it’s rolled from there, especially Benitez’s final season. He was loved by all at LFC but he didnt love us back.

Still annoyed at what he has done – total disrespect. Hopefully he will be ‘happier’ at the bridge and fit in with all those primadonas and fakes. Match Made in Heaven maybe!

Hope he’s reading these post – you made a BIG mistake moving there. They wont support you like we did – through thick and thin, good or bad. They’ll pounce once you dont deliver then you’ll be off to another club that is of a higher standard maybe.

I don’t know why you are more upset about words than about the loss of a great player. The thing is, Liverpool fans are more gullible than most, so any Liverpool player has to feed them a steady diet of guff, the usual cascade if tripe about playing for the bestest club in the world with the bestest fans. And yet each and every one of your players would and will leave if the right offer comes along. Face it, there’s always a bigger club than you.

Presume you support a team that doesnt feed you bullcr4p and has a deep rooted history? Suggest you read up on your club before pointing fingers at others – ‘mate’

So Fernando, “there is not another level after Chelsea”, just remind me how many times Chelsea have actually won the European Cup?
    None at all?
Well Manchester United have won it, so have Celtic, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and, of
course, the team you have just left have won it 5 times. These clubs all have what Chelsea lacks, HISTORY.
But in your eyes Chelsea are bigger than all of these, or was it just the money! I remember the last time a striker left Liverpool “to win trophies”.
His name was Michael Owen, he regretted it too!

  • tom says:

yeah im a gullable fan too who actually believed that honesty still existed. dont get me wrong if i was offered double my wages i’d be off too,but im on 10ph not 110g pw.how much do you need to be loyal. nothing to do with trophys all about the money i think

  • David says:

The truth is Torres should have considered his words carefully, and not tried to claim Chelsea are bigger than Liverpool.
