Tremendous Promise But He’s Going To Need Some Help

|

At times Suarez was living off scraps but managed to make things happen out of nothing on occasion. It will be great to see how he interacts with players when the likes of Steven Gerrard and Joe Cole play alongside him in the team, but the most intriguing prospect will be when Andy Carroll is fit and raring to go. Both Dirk Kuyt and David Ngog did useful jobs for Suarez when playing alongside the Uruguayan on Saturday. Kuyt worked hard off the ball and won the ball back off opponents quite frequently to give Suarez some supply while Ngog held up the ball pretty well when the Reds switched back to 4-4-2 late in the second half.

Both Kuyt and Ngog for me however do lack that bit of quality and threat near the opposition goal that Suarez could feed off. Carroll really does have the capacity to unleash the full potential of the Uruguayan and make him a real force to be reckoned with in the Premier League. Liverpool’s new number 9 has the ability not only to hold up the ball to bring Suarez into play but also to attract defenders away from the number 7 and give him the space to fully flourish. Suarez should certainly be in the goals when every Reds player is fit and firing on all cylinders.

A lot of liverpool fans are overreacting to the good start king kenny has made, but they are still 5 first team players short of a title challenge and would need to splash out at least £60 million to make these players top quality.

They need to sign a Left Back, Centre Back , Left Winger, Right Winger and defensive midfielder ( dont be telling me s***e like Lucas is good enough, he’s good enough for a mid table position or 4th choice defensive midielder, not good enough for a first team place for champions)
