Loan Watch – El Zhar scores and Aquilani’s relief at winning

|

Alberto Aquilani – The on loan Liverpool midfielder was delighted after Juventus scraped a 2-1 win against Brescia at home at the weekend:

“The three points we needed It was important to return to victory, following our difficult period, for which I can’t explain. Now we’ll look to continue on the same path, without targeting objectives, but giving our best in every game.”

Juve had only won 4 matches in 12 games before their victory and a winning goal from Alessandro Del Piero helped the Old Lady to a much needed win which keeps the Turin club in seventh place on 45 points, 5 points behind sixth placed Roma who they meet in their next match.

Nabil El Zhar – Since the start of March, the Moroccan has become more involved in first team affairs at PAOK Salonika. After starting in the 2-0 home defeat against Kavala at the end of February, he started in the 4-0 away loss to AEK Athens, and was a substitute in their 2-0 win over Ergotelis. Yesterday evening, he again started in the away match against Atromitos and scored (shown in the video below) a goal to put PAOK 2-1 up. The final score was 2-2 and PAOK Salonika lie fourth in the table on 41 points, 26 points behind 1st placed Olympiakos.

Nabil El Zhar was our only natural winger yet he was loaned out by the inept Hodgson for some reason. The guy at least has some pace and can dribble and put in some crosses. I’m pretty sure he can do better than the likes of Cole, Maxi and Kuyt out wide in crossing the ball. Liverpool need to stop loaning out first team players because that doesn’t benefit the club in any way. Either keep them or sell them, loaning out first team players is the worst option.

What have you been smoking. El Zhar was limited at best. If we get anything back from him I’d be surprised. Let’s face it he’s not exactly setting the Greek First dvision alight at the moment. A lot of thing you can blame Hodgson for El Zhar’s limited ability is not one of them.

Now there is a name I wished I heard the last of. Just reiterates the amount of deadwood that needs shifting around the club. Maybe we should hold a car boot sale outside Melwood at the end of the season. Buy one get one free offers. I’ll get some fliers printed up.

El Zhar eptomised why we had no decent youth coming through. He was pants. Fast. But pants. We’re coming out of those dark days and El Zhar will one day be a distant memory. Like Torben Piechnik and Sean Dundee and of course, Voronin!!!!!!

Don’t be so cruel guys, El Zhar always had potential, but had constant injury set backs. I don’t think he’s good enough for what we need but I wouldn’t call him rubbish. He has a bit of pace, good at dribbling, he’s actually the type of player we need, but seems to be just one step in class lower.

    Agree. El Zhar utter dross

  • Bajan Scouza says:

Dosent seem as if any of our loanees are getting enough play, so bring them all back and have KK asses them, and then get rid of the dross. I still think Insua can be a good LB, and never saw enough of El Zhar to realy commment but I did like his pace.
