According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool’s Director of Football Strategy Damien Comolli has been working hard on solving the Reds’ left back problem. After the departure of Paul Konchesky on loan to Notts Forest in January, Comolli has looked at a number of targets. He has looked at Osasuna’s Nacho Monreal, Newcastle’s Jose Enrique, Celtic’s Emilio Izaguirre but his interest cooled on Wigan left back Maynor Figueroa. The closest they got to signing a left back was Aston Villa’s Stephen Warnock on loan in January but they decided against making a move for the former Reds defender.
