Which of these THREE players was Kenny scouting last night?

|

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish and First Team Coach Steve Clarke were spotted in the stands for the match between Lyon and Montpellier last night. No doubt they were scouting a potential transfer target, and three possible players have been suggested as to who King Kenny was watching.

Aly Cissokho – The French international full back has expressed his desire to play in England in recent weeks:

“I think this is a league that suits me. It is a league where you can show power and get forward. Whether it is clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, Man City now Liverpool or Chelsea, they are clubs you dream about.”

Many see Cissokho as an ideal left back for the Reds as he is both strong, and quick, as well as having the capability to make threatening runs down the wing. With the Reds possibly looking at a number of full backs, including Jose Enrique & Fabio Coentrao, Liverpool’s Director of Football Damien Comolli may have suggested to both Dalglish and Clarke that Cissokho was worth a look at before finalising the Reds summer transfer targets.

Dejan Lovren – The Croatian international centre back has also bee suggested as a possible reason as to why both Dalglish and Clarke were at the match between Lyon and Montpellier last night. At only 21, he would certainly fit in to the FSG policy of bringing in young, talented players, and Lovren has been tipped for great things in his native Croatia

Lovren can play at right back, although he prefers to play at centre half, and is described as being a good tackler, with a fair amount of pace, as well decent aerial ability. He started out life in the Karlovac youth setup before moving to Dinamo Zagreb. He then spent two seasons out on loan at Inter Zapresic before returning to Dinamo for the 2008/09 campaign, He became a first team regular and then was subject to interest from Lyon in last season’s January transfer window. He signed a four and half year contract, after signing for €10m, and has since become a first team player.

All this player speculation is absolutely crazy!

  • Jack says:

Not aimed at live4liverpool, just in general.

  • Nigel says:

cissokho would be the nuts for us at left back!! fingers crossed….. what about pjanic (amc) too?

  • ds says:

it should be lloris or cissokho.
I can’t remember even noticing their cb.
Pjanic is a good player, but I think we would have a lot of talent at midfield next year(Stevie G, Meireles, Spearo, Lucas, Pacheco, Aquilani, and possibly Joe Cole, with Maxi also able to play there).
Also, we are being linked with Arda Turan and Eden Hazard(to name a few wingers) – both are able to play amc as well(with Hazard probably being better at that [position).

Get Aly Cissokho or Fabio Coentrao. Either one of them would solve our LB crisis.

To strengthen our backline, Mamadou Sakho would be the player to easily tick off all the criteria’s that are needed.

Lastly, we should get Eden Hazard and Adam Johnson. Both of whom will only cost about 30M. With that much of talent and youth, I’d say they are worth every penny.

The only way young players turn into first team solid players is play them in the first team and allow for some mistakes. Lucas is a prime example of this, 3 years in the first team, yes he made mistakes and has took his criticism, but managers had faith and look at what we have got now, a first team regualr playing excellent football that has now cemented his place as a regualr for brazil!! The youngsters may not have first team experience that other posible targets. but what they have got as we have seen under kenny is the intensity, drive and never say die attitude, this attitude has overidden the lack of experience and has enabled them to be a match for anyone. I belive attitude and mentallity is as important as how skillful you are, we have seen this in torres; a skillfull quaility striker who had none of these traits in his latter weeks at liverpool. This made him look absolutely woeful. Look at suarez, maybe not as technically gifted or skillful as torres but his mentality and constant drive and commitemnt to the team has seen him establish himself as a quality striker!!
    The liverpool squad in my mind should be;

    GK Reina, (Jones)(Hansen)
    RB Kelly,(Flanagan)
    CB Carra, Skrtel, Agger,(Wilson,Ayala)
    LB Need Strengthening (Robinson)
    RW Johnson, (Kuyt)(Pancheco)(Stirling)
MF Gerrard, Lucas, Miereles, (Spearing, Shelvey, suso)
    LW Need Strengthening (Stirling)
    FW Carroll, surez (Kuyt, Morgan)

    Sell; cole(5m), maxi (3m),aurelio (1m),kyriakos(1m),poulsen(2m),Konchesky(3m),janovic(3m),aquilani(11m)total : 29M

Buy in: Left back, left winger with the money we make on all them players!

    liverpool need;

cissohko or coentrao at left back.
moussa sissoko or matuidi at center mid.
sakho or hummels at center half.
sanchez or hulk as one of the wingers.
mata or young at the other set of wingers.

then lavezzi as one of the strikers.

    this should be the team;

    REINA
    KELLY CARRAGHER AGGER JOHNSON

    SANCHEZ GERRARD RAUL COENTRAO

    SUAREZ CARROLL

To have a complete team (squad, you just dont have to sell everyone, but to maximise resources unless your man city or real madrid then you have to cut the players who are just not good enough or maybe getting to old and are or have had bad injuries.

For me with spearing looking like a great squad player, with kelly when fit, along with flanno and jack robinson, who looks just great, add johnjo in there along side coady and stearling and ngoo, then you have a young set up that with a bit of luck can add to the depth and youth of the whole club set up.

But liverpool are still very short on all round quality and for me unless we get that 4-6 new players that we all know that we need, we are going to struggle to really jump forward.

Id ike; insua, degen, elzhar, brad jones, poulsen, koncehsy, aquilani and aurelio all gone.

You could add joe cole to that list maybe even soto( but i like him and hes great to have for the tem he has great attitude, but then what do we do with wilson, ayala too? so maybe you let soto go to, hes not that young and he does make the odd mistake on the floor.

Id like to see darby go, hes not cutting it even when i saw him play for notts county, you can let hgog go, shows no sign of learning at all, what does he do, not much so cash in.

Ith that list of around 11- 13 players that are not really producing and are sitting on the wage bill id sell them and make around 35- 40 mill.

Pump that back in along with the fsg investment, WHICH THEY MUST MAKE NOW OR WE WILL GO BACK A DECADE.

My liverpool team with AND WHOLE SQUAD

    REINA
    KELLY
    JOHNSON
    FLANNO
    CARRAGHER
    SKRTEL
    AGGER
    AYALA
    WILSON
    ROBINSON
    COENTRAO
    LUCUS
    GERRARD
    RAUL
    KUYT

Torres more technically gifted that Suarez?! Only thing Torres has over him is that he’s a better finisher and that’s a maybe

  • steve says:

i hope Aly Cissokho.i hope Pepe Reina stays and so no need of scouting Lloris and there are better solutions than Lovren i think like Porto’s Rolando.
    Reina
    Johnson Rolando Skrtel Baines
    Meireles Gerrard Aquilani
    Hulk Carroll Suarez
    YNWA
