With the international fixtures, focus has very much been on off field matters at Liverpool this week. The appointment of Ian Ayre as Managing Director and Damien Comolli as Director of Football, along with speculation over the comings and goings in the summer have been the biggest stories over the past couple of weeks. Ayre has stated that naming rights would only be afforded to a new stadium rather than Anfield, Standard Chartered have expressed a desire for some Asian players in the Reds squad while Lucas has signed a new contract. All in all, not a very interesting week but the match against Roy Hodgson’s West Brom today should be a good encounter. We welcome a new writer to the site this week in James Dempster, make sure to check his article “Why I believe Liverpool should be going Gaga for Gago,” and also check David Tyrer’s latest article on a Liverpooll youngster: “A great future lies in store for this bright midfield talent.” Many thanks to David Tyrer, Chris Severs, Mark Wilson, James Dempster and Jacob Dirnhuber. Have fun reading!
