The Key Difference about Liverpool under King Kenny

|

Things are different under Kenny. These mistakes are few and far between if even apparent at all. This was all typified in the mauling Liverpool dished out on Saturday. Like I said Liverpool even inflicted this heavy defeat on Birmingham with players like Steven Gerrard, Andy Carroll, Fabio Aurelio, Martin Kelly, Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson watching from the sidelines. These players unfortunately were not replaced with a somewhat equal calibre of players waiting in the wings to come on. They were replaced with the likes of Maxi Rodriguez and three products of the academy in Jay Spearing, John Flanagan and Jack Robinson and against all odds the positive impact is there for all to see. The youngsters all turned in terrific performances yet again showing they merit this run in the team they are getting and the much maligned Maxi Rodriguez gets a hat trick.

Of course these four individuals deserve all the credit for the performance they produced but the attitude and appetite they showed comes from the manager. Kenny Dalglish sets this tone amongst the players that they must fight and play for the shirt on their backs. This has been missing from Liverpool squads in recent years hence why we found ourselves in a relegation scrap earlier in the year. But Dalglish has brought it back with a bang and now we have Dirk Kuyt talking about a title challenge next season. Surely, along with the result against Birmingham City, that proves that under King Kenny we are progressing hugely.
