Long Rest? Better Science? What’s the solution to his problem?

|

Led by Dr Peter Brukner, a world leader in Sports Science, it was believed that fitness levels would improve and soft tissue injuries would decrease as new methods were begun to be adhered to by the players. Each player is said to have their own tailor-made warm up and warm down exercises as well as having individual diet and fitness programmes. Such attention to detail is meant not only to ensure fitness levels are at their optimum, but also to strengthen the areas of their bodies perceived to be the weakest and the most susceptible to injury.

Both Aurelio and Agger however have had their fair share of soft tissue/muscle injuries this campaign with Aurelio continually hampered by hamstring injuries, while Agger’s latest injury is a result of a damaged tendon. Still, it is only a year into the new project, and hopefully with Agger recovering for the start of pre-season, he can make the most of techniques used by the Sport Science team and strengthen “every muscle in his body” as he says he has already been doing.

Of course, you have to prepare for the eventuality that it might not work, and the Reds should be focused at looking at the likes of Gary Cahill, Scott Dann or Phil Jones as transfer targets this summer to ensure the Reds have strength in depth if Agger is once again on the physio table.

i think it would be best to cash in on him and aurelio we cant keep paying players to sit on the treatment table. martin kelly is just as assured on the ball as agger and there would be no pressure as he can cover for skrtel or carra on occasions and still maintain his place at right back when needed

Agger is a wonderful player but not suitable for PL. Its up to the medical science team, if there is no progress in his injury concern, then there is no point in keeping him. Better cash in on him and “Richard” has stated a wonderful point!

I’m an Agger Fan, but he’s no use to the club because he’s always injured. I truly believe that we should put a huge focus on signing Sami Hyppia as a Defensive coach and developing Danny Wilson, Andre Wisdom and Conor Coady at a very high level and move them into substitute roles here and there. Carra is still a beast and Skrtel is more a defensive presence, but has more goals than Agger in the last 2 years (even if he has played more games, Agger shows no thrust when going forward like he used to!). We also have Kelly and Ayala along with Wilson that can play until Coady and Wisdom are ready for action! If we’re desperate to replace Agger, then go for the Liverpudlian LFC supporter in Scott Dann, who is worth the 6 million they’re asking! Agger to go for 8 million!

I have to agree it’s time to sell and invest in maybe cahill.

Long rest? Better science? Nay, there is no need for all of that. All Agger needs to do is swop the bed he sleeps in for a treatment table and he would do just fine.

    Flog him. Waste of wages.
