Matuidi: I have ambitions beyond St Etienne

St Etienne captain Blaise Matuidi has stated a desire to play European football:

“At Saint-Etienne I have experienced extraordinary moments, but I have ambitions. I want to play in Europe in the Champions League or in the Europa League.”

Liverpool have been linked with the player after Director of Football Damien Comolli, who was a former Sporting Director at the French club, stated his admiration for the player in an interview.
