The media always dubs any new signing as the new Pele or Maradona but there are a select few who managers and fans alike really think they are getting the next ‘Zidane’. Ultimately these end with their careers ending quietly leaving through the fire exit doors and finishing off their playing days in places such as Australia or Scotland.
Ofcourse there are the expectations, for example Henry was the next Ian Wright and now Arsenal are looking for their next Henry rather than Wright and Hernandez is the new Van Nistelrooy etc, but for now lets focus on the ones that promised us fans the greatest performances on the pitch but instead only managed to turn in respectable performances under our management on Fifa or Pro Evo.
