Finally, the burden has been lifted from his shoulders

|

To put it into perspective, Gerrard is no longer the only highlight of the team – nor is he Liverpool’s only GO-TO man. He will thrive on the huge skill capacity of Luis Suarez and his ability to bamboozle defenders at will, along with the physical presence of Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing’s ball-crossing attributes. Dirk Kuyt looks to have finally found his goal scoring boots following his move to the English Premier league from the Dutch Eredivisie after failing to make an impact on the scoring charts in the Premier League during his initial years at the club. However, Charlie Adam’s arrival at Anfield will perhaps be the signing which will benefit Gerrard the most. His vision and eye for goal is unquestionable – and as Sir Alex Ferguson said, his set-piece deliveries alone are worth 10 million pounds. Adam can fill the gaping hole left by Xabi Alonso’s departure, a feat many have failed to achieve before.

As a result, Gerrard can now play with fewer burdens on his aging shoulders. He will have the support of Downing, Kuyt and Adam in midfield and will be able to feed Suarez and Andy Carroll to devastating effect. Provided he stays fit, Gerrard will be able to play with less pressure on his mind and could very well turn out to be a high scoring season for Liverpool’s Talisman.

Hence, it is safe to say Liverpool now has a team full of match-winners – players who can share responsibilities and form a team capable of challenging for top honours. With the squad Liverpool now possess, they will pose a menacing threat to all Premier League teams and a rejuvenated Steven Gerrard could very well be the man to look out for!

I'm a school student living in Islamabad, Pakistan who is fairly new to the world of Blogging and Article writing. Liverpool FC has been my passion ever since i started watching football - and not a moment goes by when i don't wish being at Anfield, experiencing the wonderful atmosphere, watching the best team in the world play!
However it gives me great pleasure to share my opinions with the world and to write blogs on a team i love with all my heart - LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB.

Unfortunately a whole lot of in-bred, retarded, so-called Liverpool fans think his career is over and that we no longer need him.

Small minds and undoubtedly no idea about football.

Gerrard has carried this team for years and without him we would have been in the Championship.

Hopefully the presence of some solid buys that we have and some future quality buys also then it will take the pressure off him a bit and allow him to dictate a little more.

We owe him so much, hardly right to slag him off. Kuyt on the other hand is frickin useless and should have gone years ago – about we slag this fool off instead

Lee u ar a comprehensive twit, who do you think you are speaking like that about kuyt an existing player for our team who plays his heart out every time he pulls on his shirt regardless of the opposition. It’s not just our club who thinks he’s gud enough it’s his national team! Show some respect if you are capable.

good article and i agree with you but there is another urgent signing which is a new left back.then 3 more to complete the squad:a new center back,a new winger and a back-up striker where in that case i’d welcome Jose Enrique,Diego Godin,Charles N’Zogbia and Mauro Bueno for that matter.with those 4,i think we’d have a great squad.but of course we also have to offload the high-waged flops first as King Kenny said.YNWA

We obviously have an ignorant fool commenting on this article;I refer to Lee July20/2011/5;19pm,who has absolutely ‘no idea of some players worth’;Dirk Kuyt has been invaluable to LFC-playing out of his favoured position since he arrived at Anfield. He was brought in as a striker, but has been used out of position most of the time!(when used as a striker last season he proved himself! He is the most hard working player that the club have, recognised by all managers! and has scored very important goals for LFC! particularly last season when playing up front, when no other recognised striker was available! LEE ! you have ‘NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT’, go back to school and learn a few things!

Lee, Lee, Lee, Lee I agree with Dave and the other 99.999999% of proper liverpool fans who watch the game and for seasons he has been one of the league if not the worlds hardest working players and if i was to pick a ledgend based on all factors for recent times in a liverpool shirt it would be Kuyt. tackles, commitment , important goals, injury free if we had 10 kuyts and reina in goal we would be champions already so come back when you have a clue what that man has done and until you do please keep your uneducated remarks off our pages. to the other 99.99999% YNWA

  • David says:

Kuyt has been an important player and done well playing out of position and always gives 110% and always comes up with that goal saying that tho I now feel we have more skilful players and that kuyt should be used more as a squad player and played only in the big games as he is a big game player as when playing poorer teams in the league I feel we lack that skilful creative spark thtat I feel kuyt lacks but hay that’s just my opinion
