The Liverpool Echo are reporting that Liverpool are willing to let defender Chris Mavinga leave the club. The French Under 20 international spent last year on loan at Belgian club Racing Genk, and is now available for transfer for approximately £1million, according to the paper. The 20 year old, who can play at either left back or centre half, was signed in 2009, and is now being tracked by Rennes, Villarreal as well as Genk who want him on a permanent deal. Mavinga is currently with the France squad ahead of the U20 World Cup in Colombia, and it is likely that any deal will be finalised after he returns from the tournament.

This week it is former LFC WAG Abigail Clancy!

He’s a better player and a far better prospect than Robinson as far as I’m concerned. I hope this push to promote English talent at the expense of those from abroad does not come back to bite us in the a55!

English talent come at a high cost as seen from last year’s transfer and had nothing to show except for the Carling Cup. Other clubs spent much less for better players and match high transfer fees with the footballer’s skills and abilities. LFC seems to be letting go a number of youngsters and if they are really no good, why are other established clubs after them?
