So who will Kenny turn to if all else fails?

|

Jack Robinson – It would probably be too much to ask of the 17 year old to start the match against Sunderland. Although he has looked very promising in matches last season, and in pre-season this campaign, it maybe the case that the opportunity has come too early in Jack’s development. He would certainly be a useful alternative backup to Fabio Aurelio though, and will surely go from strength to strength if he is given 10 odd games this season to impress.

Other options – The only other options would be to go with players such as Danny Wilson and Daniel Agger who have played at left back before. Both however don’t look comfortable when asked to play in the position, and it would be best advised to either go with younger players such as Robinson, Insua, Flanagan or someone who can play full back such as Johnson or Kelly who could do a better job in regards to positioning.

What other alternatives could the Reds look at if no new left back comes in?

I think you have the wrong Pereira in this article. I thought Alvaro from Porto was being linked, not Maxi from Benfica. Alvaro is the LB and LM and Maxi is RB.

Insua is crap, Aurelio is always injured. Looks like Kelly and Johnson again for me – we Johnson on the left.

I cannot believe that we have to sell before we can buy already. Perhaps the price you pay for overspending on average players.
