What a difference a year makes on the ownership front

|

In stark contrast to last season, Liverpool have already splashed £20 million on two separate individuals in Downing and Henderson and are still expected to make one or two more ‘big’ signings before the window slams shut. On the other hand, last summer, we were being convinced that our two free transfers, Cole and Jovanovic, were ‘big’ signings that would take us to the next level, and after finishing seventh the season prior there were many levels still to reach.

Of course, some of the blame has to be placed on the shoulders of then manager Roy Hodgson after he misjudged the talent of the likes of Poulsen and Konchesky. Although can we honestly say the money was available to buy players with significantly more quality than those aging footballers? Personally, I think not.

One of the most refreshing aspects to the ownership of FSG is that chairman, Mr John W Henry, not only attends games on a regular basis, despite being based well over four thousand miles away from Anfield, but also interacts with fans using his online Twitter account. On numerous occasions since his arrival on Merseyside he has spoken directly to fans and has provided as many answers as possible to a number of probing questions. His honesty gives us fans a sense of pride in the people that control our club that we love dearly and for the way in which it is being run, I believe I speak for the majority of Liverpool fans by saying thank you and long may it continue. Here’s to a great future filled with success and silverware alongside our American friends and saviours.

On the same manner should liverpool offload these guys no matter what price any club’s willing to pay on their behalf. At worse, the ones that where unable to be sold should be loaned. As a fan, their presence in the club is nauseatious.

I cant wait to get rid of Poulsen, Jovanovic, Degen and Ngog.
