Why, even without spending, the future is bright for LFC

|

JonJo Shelvey – 19

Signed from Charlton Athletic for a rumoured £1.75m (rising to £4m), Charlton’s youngest ever player has made quite an impression with his passing and vision in the middle. Again being trusted when last seasons injuries struck, gaining three assists.

Raheem Sterling – 16

A player expected to take the league by storm in a few years, Raheem has exceptional skill, pace and finishing ability and can play anywhere across the front and wing areas. Before being signed by Liverpool from QPR Raheem was about to become one of the youngest ever professional footballers at only 15 years old.

Achieving a phenomenal season in the youth team including scoring 5 goals in one FA Youth Cup game, he then jetted of with England at the youth World Cup scoring and played very well.

Jay Spearing – 22

Although Jay cannot be called a young player anymore he has stepped his game up under Hodgson and Dalglish and found an extra gear not many people knew was there and has impressed massively in the season run in, being very competitive in the middle of the field and being rewarded with a new contract.

Even if the club decided to loan one or two of these above mentioned players out to other clubs and gain a loan fee it would be because other players will be there to step up. Consistently pushing the first team squad in the next year or two will include Dani Pacheco, Tony Silva, Adam Morgan, Suso, Alex O’Hanlon and Andre Wisdom.

Mostly ranging from 17-19 years old and widely regarded to have at least the same talent as the players pushing this season. This youth conveyor belt will save the club millions of pounds which the club currently spends on players to plug holes in the squad.

Total rubbish,Absolute nonsense. Having these players on your list without putting Pacheco shows how unconcerned&less informed the writer is. Who’s Jay Spearing? I read Kenny was disappointed at the 3-0 defeat against. Tell him it’s not yet time to be disappointed, let’s wait and see what his BUNCH OF ENGLISH PLAYERS will do when d season starts. It’s such a pity i can only wish them well cos i’m a liverpool fan. But,if any1 sees dr.Dalglish tell him FOOTBALL speaks LOVE, IT speaks UNITY. FOOTBALL doesn’t speak ENGLISH.

what the heck is kenny playing at, we should be playing as many as he intends to start the season with, who cares if the likes of poulson is not fit enough and young stirling should be in for a game if he’s not injured.

The players mentioned above are decent players but they have a long way to go. Kelly is probably the cream of the crop because he shows quite a lot potential.

Truth is that we haven’t signed the quality we so badly needed and I am hugely disappointed by our activity this transfer market. We’re not in the CL so players will not just fall into our laps, therefore we have to go out there and convince them more. Only signing players who want to come to the club is stupid as we only get the mediocre ones. Players need to be reassured that the club is doing its utmost to succeed but judging by our average signings, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Add that to the fact that we spent a fortune signing these average players and you understand my frustrations….especially when the likes of Meireles are rumoured to be leaving.

We need at least 3 quality players before the season starts – a striker, a left back and a centre back and if possible, another wide man.

I accept we need to sell before we can buy so why is it that Insua, Poulsen, El Zhar, Degen, Ngog, Jones and Wilson still don’t know whether they are wanted or not. They should have been the first names on the list and should not be playing in these friendlies.

Against Hull it showed we have some good players, we had some weaker players like Kuyt (who can offer something) and then we also have a lot of dross!!!!

Lesson from yesterday – SELL SELL AND SELL AGAIN – We all know who – time for some plain speaking Kenny – Hull was a reminder of the last 2 games of last season so start selling.

The term knee jerk reaction springs to mind.
Trust the king this is tge same side that went on the second best run in the prem after Xmas. One pre season loss and doom and gloom. Support the boys in their efforts to get our club where it belongs.
