VIDEO: Can anyone tell what Comolli and Aquilani are saying?

|

It will come as a big disappointment for most Reds fans if Aquilani does depart the club though, as he has no doubt been Liverpool’s most impressive player during pre-season. I do feel that some do go overboard in how highly they rate the 27 year old. For sure, Aqua has impressed during pre-season but it would be no reason to castigate the manager if he does allow him to depart as he already has Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Raul Meireles and Steven Gerrard at the club.

For some, Aquilani would trump any of the first three but I wouldn’t be so quick to jump to conclusions. Henderson is 21 years of age and will progress over time, Adam is settling into a new side and judging him on any pre-season match would be extremely harsh, and Raul Meireles has shown last campaign what he can be capable of if he is afforded a second season in the Premier League.

Aquilani is a quality player no doubt, but to hear some fans at the moment, you would be forgiven for thinking he was a truly world class one. Impressive as he has been, he still needs to show he can do it on a regular basis in the Premier League. I for one would give him that opportunity and some of the frustration over his rumoured departure is the fact he hasn’t really been given the opportunity to shine.

I would start him against Sunderland on Saturday week because his performances deserve it, but it is not my decision. If Kenny Dalglish feels he has better options, then I am not going to sit here and say I know better than him. By the opening match of the season, Aquilani may have departed back to Italy and the whole issue will have to be put to rest anyway.

Whatever it is, Aquilani does not look like it is what he wants to hear.

Pity if Liverpool was to lose a player of his quality; compared to the square pegs currently occupying Liverpool’s midfield. Is this going to be a de javu re: Newcastle? I hope the owners are watching carefully. They seem to be a ruthless lot. How a club of Liverpool’s stature was chasing after a player of Charlie Adams’s quality, and Manure are chasing after a player of Schnieder’s quality shows why the current score of Premier League titles reads Liverpool 18 Manure 19.

I totally agree with you! I don’t understand the money spent for the quality of players we have purchased!
I do not have anything against any of the new signings, but for the same money we bought Henderson and Downing, we could have bought Mata and Hazard!
I would have bought Given as back up if not pushing Reina to the MAX for first team position!
Then kept the money from Adam as Aqua looks like he is getting fitter and spent money for quality LB and 2 CB!
      Same money and younger!

      • Gerrardious says:

Given left City where he was earning good money because he wanted 1st team football, so what makes u think he would want to be a backup to Reina?? Also what makes u think Hazard and Mata are interested in NOT playing in Europe??
        wot a load of crap!!

    • Gerrardious says:

when will u get it into ur skull that we cannot afford guys like Sneijder because of their transfer fee and most importantly their wages. Also, who’s to say they would be interested in coming.
ManU and co are strengthening their team. we are just building.
so STOP complaining and be supportive.

Aquilani is being sold to the Ukraine they are the only ones who will meet his wages.

If you look at the body language its nothing threatening! Looks quite sociable to be honest!

He’s not a happy man Aquilani!!!

  • abraham says:

cordial discussion between two colleagues on issues they both commonly have same affinity for. no confrontations what so ever

  • Mish says:

Comolli’s body language is assertive but open.

Aquilani looks guarded, possibly even anxious. He’s shuffling from foot to foot, which shows he’s on his nerves, or at the very least uncomfortable with what’s being said.

  • Felderkirk says:

The music at the start is ‘Round Midnight’ by Thelonious Monk, if that helps.

    I’ll get me coat…

  • Mish says:

Felderkirk deserves a round of applause for that spot.

    Take a bow, son! 🙂

  • man says:

This man could be our best player this season if he is not forced out by someone making an incredibly stupid decision. I’m really worried about LFC. Our beloved team. Why on earth sell one of our best players when it’s clear (look at our pre season form) we need him.
