Have we been expecting too much from this Reds side?

|

The fact that Redknapp’s men managed to make Liverpool, new additions and all look so lacklustre (even before the Reds had anybody sent off) is mighty impressive and evidence that Tottenham are ready to fight for fourth place this season.

Whilst a dreamy optimism may have been pervasive amongst Liverpool fans at the start of the season, the club has been through a couple of serious reality checks. Even with Arsenal’s crisis and Spurs struggling, fourth place may not be easy to come by.

The result against Tottenham could affect the club in one of two ways. It could well be the wake-up call That Liverpool need and might shake the inconsistency out of two-or-three squad members which could in turn start translating into results on the pitch. On the other hand, it could affect player’s confidences and Liverpool may well face an Arsenal-style fall from grace.

How Liverpool respond to the last couple of weeks of football may well determine their chances for success this season and will contribute to our expectations for the club as they move forward.

No, we are not expecting too much from this Reds side, we are just expecting to see the team return where it belongs! We cannot lie on the excuse all the time that we are not up to the level of other teams. If we claim that all the time it simply means that us, the Liverpoolians (owners – management – coaches – players, don’t make the right decisions as we can return the team back to the top of the premier league and champions league. Both Damien Comolli and Kenny Dalglish should re-assess their transfer strategy and face the reality of who they brought in and of who they left go!

My team is very disappointing and i am very gutted with there lack-luster display. If you look at the training videos on the net you see players laughing and having fun and evry one talking about the positive vibe that is at the club. This is nonsence! Stop having fun adn do the work on the pitch! Coaches should atleast get our team 3 times FASTER!!!!! We are so slow on the ball and our team has NO!!! pace. This is a SERIOUS problem and i want LFC to take note that they are not looking after my best interest as a supporter. Our soccer is slow and it takes Caragher 5min to get the ball from the back, that is if he gets it right. Hendersen plays backward soccer, he just passes backwards and side ways, what is up with that. Adam is so slow, he needs time to make a pass and if he does not get it, he plays to get booked or he shouts at is fellow players for giving him stick. This is not how i know my Liverpoop team. KK you need to wake up and listen to us and not turn out to be anotherSTUBBORN Hodgson! I want to see the team increase the speed and pace of the game and i will be taking note in the next game.
    YNWA!

Backed with money, Rafa was the only manager I trusted in the last twenty years. It’s early days for kenny, but with FSG’s history with Red Sox managers, I doubt he’ll get a lot of time. I know there are a lot of different factors affecting our proformances this season but I think Gerrards return will be a major influencing factor on our season IF he stays fit,. At the moment we have too many inexperienced players looking for a leader on the field. All good teams require a healthy balance. Remember Gary Mac’s influence in the 2001 season. Plus it’s a real shame we let go both Aqua and Meireles because their expierence would be essential now.

i totally agree with denzil. adams is not liverpool class. i dont know why
he reminds me of hogson son in
law poulsen. get hazard or affelay.
    a quick
    defensive midfielder coz as much
as lucas tried he was left for dead
    on countless occasio. a world
    class creative midfielder. then
after this we wont even be
looking for a champions league spot.
we will be right up there with the best.
please kk come january buy pace
    and class. Y.N.W.A.

    PEACE!!

What Liverpool need is Marko Marin, Edin Hazard, Wesley Sneijder and M’Vila…….what you need and get is another thing.

I wouldnt be surprised if you end up with Shane Long who has done OK at West Brom, Ashley Williams who seems OK for Swansea and Johnathan Walters at Stoke…..they are your kind of mid table signings, you will get all of them at 20 mill a pop,,, llllooollll typical Liverpool

stoke and spurs were the first tests of the season. i thought if we got 4 points from those games we’d have genuine cause for optimism about a top 4 finish. after watching us get wasted on sunday i can’t see it. i admit to being a natural born pessimist so i hope i’m proved wrong.
