It’s not Bosman’s fault, It is pure greed.

Naturally he must be worth much more. The worth is measured in terms of money. Not plaudits and fan appraisals. If it had been, then one player getting paid a lot wouldn’t have bothered the others because they’d have felt they’re already getting the recognition they deserve in the form of the fans idolising them.

This in turn would’ve put the fans and clubs in the driving seat, with the player’s worth coming down considerably for someone like Torres who’s turned in to a bit of a joke at the moment.

For some reason it’s all about the money. Somehow these players have been made to feel like they are the delicate stars no one can absolutely do without. Greatness used to be measured in terms of fan support and plaudits, they used to be worth a lot more than money.

Now of course Nasri and Fabregas left Arsenal when their club needed them the most. If they cared for the fans like the fans did for them, then it’s pretty inexplicable how they could leave like that.

Same went for Torres, who spent the last 2 years at Liverpool complaining about the lack of new signings hampering the club’s chances.

Money has become the answer to everything nowadays. Players don’t think for a second, ‘We’re not winning anything? Let’s get the lads together and play much much better than we have been.’

No way. We need more money spent on us and our fellow prima donnas to make us feel special. Maybe then we’ll make an occasional effort to help out our defenders when we’re under attack. It’s a bit like asking for your guns to be polished before you can be bothered to cover fire during a war.

Long as that carries on, Football is headed for a major crash. Who’s going to suffer then? These greedy players?

No. It’ll be the level headed players playing for the lower leagues on decent wages (when considered in real terms but pathetic in the football world) who’ll have to suffer and more so than them – it’ll be the fans.

In the middle of a recession, we have hundreds of players earning about a thousand times more than an equally deserving working class man, just because they turn up to training every week and do for a living, which most of us do for free every week anyway. Because we love the game.

Yes sure, they put in a lot more effort compared to us and have much more ability, which is why they get paid much more than an average person gets a year. The current structure though, takes the yearly figures in to millions.

No one, is worth that. Anyone claiming otherwise, would have to be as deluded as these players.

Wages have destroyed the part of football which used to put a smile with pride on the supporters when the team walked into the pitch.
Now you love a player today leaves you 2mrw for bigger payroll.
You wonder where the alan shearers, paulo maluidini, the juventas guy who stayed with the in times of trouble.
Players have destroyed the game where is the determination. You think about it everything which was there is lost. Teams are buyin success look at city madrid chelsea they are literally destroyin football. What happens to everton, newcastle guess what you don’t have the big bank account so you dont win anything and let the best players come for a bigger payroll.

I wish every player could be like the great alan shearer.
    Fifa this is your call.

I remember watchin a documentary about an american team which beat an england team i think in 1950. There is an american player who scored the winning goal or the goal keeper was a part time dishwasher to make it a living. There is no great love for football like that 1. I can have a tean of that dish washers than a team of fernado torres

Players try to earn as much money possible in a 15 year career so they are financially secure for the rest of their lives.

Fans and loyalty isnt an issue.Family and wealth comes first and foremost.
