More Wins Away than at Home – What’s going on?

|

No-one can argue that Liverpool’s away form has greatly improved since Dalglish took over. He has orchestrated impressive wins at Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton during the relatively brief time since his return, and the Reds can now travel to any ground in the country with the confidence to win.

What needs to be addressed now are the results at Anfield. Everyone at the club is desperate for a return to the Champions League, but that can only be achieved with consistency. It is no good going away and picking up a great win if the following week sees a home draw against a relegation candidate.

Swansea manager Brendan Rogers has highlighted the performances of Sunderland and Norwich at Anfield as reasons why his side can take something from Saturday’s game. It’s time for Liverpool to start performing at home, and show everyone that those previous results will not be repeated.

I am currently studying Sports Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire. I have recently finished my first year of the course, and I am hoping to hone my skills by writing pieces for live4liverpool.

I have supported Liverpool since the age of 6, and in that time my favourite player has been Robbie Fowler. My favourite match was the 2005 Champions League final against AC Milan.

I have just watched Real Madrid demolish Osasuna 7 – 1. Had Liverpool been playing Osasuna at Anfield it’s a safe bet the visitots would have got a draw.
The fact is that the football Liverpool play is terribly sterile and predictable. I doubt if they will score seven goals between now and Xmas, certainly not if Dalglish persists in playing the biggest transfer disaster in the history of the club. Thirty-five million pounds for a player no better than N’gog. What was Dalglish thinking?
