What more can he do to earn a start?

|

He has played all four games of the League Cup run, scoring against Exeter and again against Chelsea. After his second goal in the space of nine days at Stamford Bridge, and having scored a hat-trick in a 5-2 win over Fulham last season, Maxi would have rightly expected to have started at Craven Cottage. But once again, he did not even make it off the bench.

Of course, it’s too simple to say that playing Maxi would solve all our scoring problems. But at the moment, he is not even getting the chance. He has shown how effective he can be in front of goal, and at the very least deserves a few more appearances from the bench.

What is certain is that Liverpool need goals right now. There is still almost a month until the transfer window reopens, and Dalglish will have to make do with what he has got for the time being. Maxi should be given a chance. What more can he do to earn a start?

I am currently studying Sports Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire. I have recently finished my first year of the course, and I am hoping to hone my skills by writing pieces for live4liverpool.

I have supported Liverpool since the age of 6, and in that time my favourite player has been Robbie Fowler. My favourite match was the 2005 Champions League final against AC Milan.

Maxi could try growing a ponytail and a beard. Then he could put on 4 stone in weight and fall over a lot. Seems to work with the donkey, Carroll.

Maxi scores because he is one of the few lv player who knows that you have a beter chance to score in the 16 yard area that outside. Johnson score against Clse because he drove the ball into 18 box before hitting the ball, had he shooted while outside, chances are he could have missed , hit the bar and the the reason we Lp is hitting the bar so mant times is that most of our player do not get into the box, I do not know is they are playing accord to KD instruction. But whatever the case, the fact that KD is not changing the situation shows that to be at top 4 team we also need to strengthen the coaching team. The owners can make avail $300m but without an able manager you will buy overpriced players who does not fit in you team , spend the season blaming luck or match officials
and only come close to achieving something of value. Facts on the ground seems to show that LP manager is not amoung the best, given $135 million to spend but still fail to beat small teams. Have you noticed that all players who were at Liverpool and those who were at big clubs have never said anything that support that KD is a good manager, Carr mentioned that the current manager does not work on tactics… To successfull manage a bib club you have to have a lot of traits, especially to read the game, KD has never changed the formation mid-way to win any game. But the problem is KD thinks he able, he can win with anyone so he selects the players that he prefers leaving better players. This is only my opinion but I think at least 3/4 of the managers in PL are enjoying a better return to investment that Liverpool manager.
