As we increase our build-up to one of Liverpool FC’s most exciting matches in recent memory – the FA Cup semi-final versus Everton – taking place this Saturday at Wembley, I took time out to get the views of our Blue brethren, on the game and their expectations.

Representing the Toffees and answering a few of my questions is 23-year old long-time season ticket holder Gerard English.

Gerard was born and raised in Walton (an area situated in North Liverpool), and is travelling down at 4am on Saturday morning for what will be his first (and hopefully only!) visit to Wembley.

– So Gerard, how long have you been a season ticket holder?

Well I’ve been a fan all my life and a season ticket holder since I was thirteen when I got one for my birthday present.

– In which area of Goodison Park do you sit?

I sit in the Gwladys Street end, upper Gwladys.

– How many Away matches would you say you’ve been to in your life?

At a rough estimate, I would say I’ve been to around 10-15 or so.

– Has Everton’s Cup run surprised you this season?

Not really no. I think because the FA Cup started after Christmas, it was a bonus to Everton because we have a good record of performing well after Christmas – our season tends to start in January!

– Have you noticed a different style/intensity in play between league and cup matches when watching the Toffees?

Yeah I think there is a bit of a different intensity. In the cup matches there’s a bit more of intensity probably down to the fact that you’ve got just the 90 minutes to play for (barring a replay, obviously).

– What was your initial reaction when it was revealed that Liverpool were to be your potential opponents in the draw for the semi-finals?

At first it was terror! But now with the form we are in and the way we’ve been playing lately, coupled with your dip in form, I’m now feeling quietly confident.

– Who’s been Everton’s Player of Year so far?

Johnny Heitinga. A fantastic player and has really proven himself this season.

– Who’s Everton’s current danger-man you feel Liverpool should worry about going into the semi-final?

Jelavic. He’s been an amazing player so far and the best signing we’ve had in a while.

– Who is the Liverpool player you love to hate?

Suarez. I feel he epitomises everything bad about the modern game.

– Who is the Liverpool player you’re most worried about?

Steven Gerrard. He’s our bogeyman!

– Which Liverpool player do you secretly admire, and wish wore blue?

Dirk Kuyt. He’s hard working and never seems to get the praise he deserves from the fans.

– As a rival fan, why do you think Liverpool’s have endured a poor league campaign?

Liverpool are a team made up of individuals. They don’t seem to gel well and rather than finding a manager who could achieve a top four place, you signed a manager whose tactics seem dated.

– Where do you see the semi-final being won or lost?

– I think the game is being won by the second just due to the lack of available players you have!

– Final Prediction?

Everton 2 Liverpool 0

Jimmy Areabi (Editor) - @fantasista1077: Huyton raised like Steven Gerrard, football has been my passion since the time I received a Kenny Dalglish badge as a toddler, and I've followed the Reds ever since – something that was easier during the 80s, when I worshipped John Barnes! I've produced work for many football media outlets & am now happy to run a major site on the club I love - providing our fans with a voice, and to bring as much information and news on the club as possible.
Having played football all my life, I aim to continue longer than Stanley Matthews...

how can this idiot comment on kenny when moyes has not won at anfield and has no trophies. kenny won one in his first full season back and will probably win the fa cup too.add that to the fact kenny has won trophies in his first stint at lfc and second . he will win more given time. moyes is a manager with no ideas and more importantly no motivation he cold of moved to bigger better things but carries on with no money and a team not capable of winning any

Yeah, that’s about 10 more than your average Kopite gets to go to home games ! Keep your seat warm in the pub mate !!!

The thing that worries me is that the blue sh*te r due 1! And howard webb is ref! Kenny and stevie need to tell the squad keeping 11 men is imperative. It might be a tight game, even penalties, brad jones could be the man! (What he and his family have been through) would deserve it! I wouldn’t like to predict a score, just a liverpool win! (Fingers crossed). Y……N……W……A

Richard = Bell end. Im sure even the most stupid of Liverpool Fans can see Dalglish is dated through and through and has really run down your club on and off the pitch this season. If you had Moyes, you’d have won much more. You are one of those deluded idiots who judge everything on trophies. Wake up boy.
