A Liverpool based designer menswear store hosts a charity night in aid of Jamie Carragher’s ‘23 Foundation’ with the help of local celebrities.

Any fans local to the city may be aware that Designer Boutique Menswear on Stopgate Lane, Aintree plans to donate a large sum of money to Liverpool FC star Jamie Carragher’s very own charity, the ’23 Foundation’ with support from Jamie himself and Liverpool FC physio Chris Morgan.

The foundation, set-up in 2009 aims to give local kids in Merseyside a chance to achieve their dreams through local charities, clubs and community initiatives by providing the means to make a difference.

That is whether it be helping local kids recover from illness or helping to provide a framework for achieving their goals.

Other Liverpool FC related guests who turned out to support the cause were ‘Phoenix Nights’ writer Neil Fitzmaurice, who may be more commonly known to Reds fans as the man who played Rafa Benitez in the excellent ’15 Minutes That Shook The World’, and squad impressionist Darren Farley. They were also joined by local stars such as British light-heavyweight champion Tony Bellew, Jacqueline Ablett and Radio City’s Lee Butler.

Martin Webster, from Designer Boutique, said:

“We really want to help raise some money for a great cause and we appreciate all the support we have received from famous local faces.

“I think that the 23 Foundation is a fantastic charity as all the proceeds that are donated go directly to the children who need them.

“We are so thankful for all of the support on twitter which has been really helpful in making the night a success.

“We had re-tweets from people like Coleen Rooney, Guillem Balague, Tony Bellew, Neil Danns, various Liverpool and Everton players along with local boxers amd MMA competitors.”

With more planned in the future, the event, sponsored by Giorgio Armani, MA.STRUM and Creative Recreation, aims to raise a large sum of money for Carragher’s 23 Foundation to help local children who may be disadvantaged, or who suffer from illness, to achieve their dreams.

Martin Webster continued:

“Hopefully this will be the first of many fundraisers that we will hold here at Designer Boutique, we see this as a great way to not only raise money for a good cause but to help raise the profile of the store so that we can do more things like this in future.”

Jimmy Areabi (Editor) - @fantasista1077: Huyton raised like Steven Gerrard, football has been my passion since the time I received a Kenny Dalglish badge as a toddler, and I've followed the Reds ever since – something that was easier during the 80s, when I worshipped John Barnes! I've produced work for many football media outlets & am now happy to run a major site on the club I love - providing our fans with a voice, and to bring as much information and news on the club as possible.
Having played football all my life, I aim to continue longer than Stanley Matthews...
