DANIEL Agger last night confirmed his love of Liverpool by declaring his happiness and desire to stay at the club, beyond his current contract terms.

Insisting that he sees his long-term future with the Reds, Agger told Danish website, Sporten.dk:

“It’s no secret that I’m happy to be in Liverpool. Otherwise, I would not have been there for six years.

“I have not discussed a new contract, but if they come with an offer I will surely sit down and talk with them. It’s not something that is urgent, for I have contract until 2014, but if they ask I will listen.”

The Danish centre-back who enjoyed some outstanding Euro 2012 performances whilst captaining his country, seems keen to add to his 170 appearances for the Reds since joining from Brondby back in 2006 and is exciting to begin life under new manager Brendan Rodgers:

“I am looking forward to meeting the new coach. I’ve seen what he has done at Swansea, and it has been impressive.”

Meanwhile the agent of Italian misfit Alberto Aquilani last night revealed that there has been no interest in his client, and he fully expects the former Roma star to return to Anfield at the beginning of July for pre-season training.

Reports in Italy had claimed that Aquilani would try to terminate his contract with Liverpool, which runs until June 2014, in order to push through a move to AC Milan, the club he has been based on-loan. However his agent, Franco Zavaglia denies this is the case:

”Almost certainly he will not terminate his contract with Liverpool. He could join them [Liverpool] at the beginning of July to start pre-season training with the English club. At this time there are no clubs interested in him.”

These comments seem to confirm that the former Italian international has failed to attract any interest in his services, however Brendan Rodgers will have the final say on the midfielder’s future after assessing him.

“The new Liverpool coach will decide Alberto’s fate,” Zavaglia continued. “We will have to wait and see what he thinks about the player and whether Alberto will be of any use to the Reds.”

Jimmy Areabi (Editor) - @fantasista1077: Huyton raised like Steven Gerrard, football has been my passion since the time I received a Kenny Dalglish badge as a toddler, and I've followed the Reds ever since – something that was easier during the 80s, when I worshipped John Barnes! I've produced work for many football media outlets & am now happy to run a major site on the club I love - providing our fans with a voice, and to bring as much information and news on the club as possible.
Having played football all my life, I aim to continue longer than Stanley Matthews...

I hope Rodgers wants to keep him, he could add a lot alongside Gerrard and Lucas.

We don’t need Sigurdsson if Aquilani is around. In my opinion, Aquilani is a better option we have.
