Acting as an understudy for the majority of his time at Man City, Adam Johnson has shown more than enough quality to prove his worth in the starting 11 of a top Premier League club. With his match minutes at the Etihad decreasing by the season, this summer could be the perfect time for the young winger to move to pastures new. With a distinct lack of quality width in the Liverpool team, especially considering the poor debut season of Stewart Downing, Johnson could slot right in to Rodgers’ new style of football that is set to become imprinted onto the Anfield turf. An expensive £17 million offer is apparently the required amount to persuade City to let their man go, but if the current Champions deem the 25-year old surplus to requirements, Rodgers may well take the chance and snap up Johnson with the promise of first team football.
