Right now, you would be hard pressed to find a sports section of any national newspaper and not see the American being linked with a move to Anfield. Whilst there was an assumption that Dempsey may upgrade to a club of greater stature than his current employers toward the end of last season, it is only now that Liverpool have seemingly announced interest in the man who controlled much of the action at Craven Cottage last season. Scoring 17 goals, the 29-year old hit his peak form and his versatility shone as he prowled around the penalty area last term. £8 million is the transfer fee being touted and it would certainly be a steal for Rodgers, especially with the departure of Dirk Kuyt.
