LIVERPOOL FC’s full complement of first team squad players were finally able to train together for the first time under new manager Brendan Rodgers, this morning.

Barring Craig Bellamy (who is widely expected to finalize a move away from the Reds for the second time in his career over the next couple of days, rejoining Cardiff City), Rodgers was finally able to begin implementation of the much vaunted ‘tiki-taka’ playing philosophy with his full squad in attendance, earlier today at Melwood.

The manager began training members of the squad back at the start of July, however this contained just a few members of the first team due to the Euro 2012 Championships, as well as Olympic tournament commitments.

Now Uruguay’s Olympic football dream ended last week, Luis Suarez and Sebastian Coates were finally able to rejoin the Reds squad to prepare for the new 2012/13 season, teaming up with new manager Brendan Rodgers for the first time.

Earlier today Suarez and co. took part in their first training session together, and as the following pictures show, the squad seem to be enjoying the manager’s new training methods already!

It appears to be very obvious that Andy Carroll is not in the “full” group at training. Where is he ?

    • Souey's 'tache says:

That obvious eh? Try looking again – he’s being out-jumped by Coates & Skrtel…

@fras57,never mind andy is going to resist any transfer n he’s going to make br know he almost made a mistake had he leave our club.luv andy to stay.

  • am very happy that Suarez sign a new long time deal to keep him at anfield… Good news for us.. Cant wait for the new season to get underway…. Ynwa

Tiki Taka or other wise a player that can head the ball is vital in any team. Caroll should stay just get the wingers that are so obviously missing then the system will fit, Clearly that text book header at the Euros showed that Caroll has class in abundance with the right service.

I feel like it is the first major signing of BR. I jst pray Skrtel n Agger follow next. More signings BR and lets start kicking as*es. Ramirez, sahin, dempsey and sissoko then we smile home with 3rd place and FA cup and Community shield. AMEN.

  • Jaynaldo says:

Whats all this tiki taka crap!! The Liverpool of the 70’s & 80’s invented it, it was called “pass & move” forget barca, they play how we used to. #shortmemories

    • Jimmy Areabi (Editor) says:

Hmmm…we invented “pass & move” in the 70’s & 80’s eh? Do you mean the style that Shankly implemented in the 60’s, especially after being suitably impressed/dominated by the Dutch (Ajax) team during the 60’s European ties that played in this style? The same Dutch, who in turn, developed the style from the Hungarian team of the 50’s?

      #evenshortermemory

Well…tiki taka or pass and move, whateva name you call it,I still don’t think we have the right players to carry out this type of play excellently. I mean with players like Downing who will always Run faster than the ball, hence leaving the ball behind,Jay spearin who will always pass to the opponent,Henderson who in fact is always so insignificant on the pitch and Carroll….If you guys keep saying a player as poor as Andy Carrol is Class just because he can nod whilst he is useless in all other ways on the pitch, then what will you say to Messi who can Dribble,Pass,Loop,Play Freekicks and take Shots…….I don’t know why fellow Liverpool fans are getting used to Average players. The only players who can materialise the Tiki taka are Agger……goin to Man city(Rumour), Bellamy……goin to Cardiff(Rumour), Suarez, happy he’s staying,Borini to mention a few anyway…….. Guys wake up,we need to forget about fantasy and Buy some good players while we let go of the Average ones.

I fully agree with you.If Rodgers thinks that we can accomplish anything with this crop of players.
we need to make a few quality signings

  • steve says:

    Reina
    Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
    Gerrard Lucas Sahin
    Ramirez Borini Suarez
    YNWA

  • Br is useles. Let us see new faces in Sahin, Dempsey, Gaston and ths other useles Weish player Allen. And then we can finish top 15. Because we are widely known now as Swansea B.

  • Suarez right foot says:

swansea b? haahaa what a stupid thing to say. some pool fans need to stop being so negative. brendon is an excellent man motivator and manager. if he can turn a championship side into a strong premiership side i cant wait to see what he can do with our boys. two or three more signings and we will be a very tough nut to crack. the only people who will call us swansea b if allen joins are jealous wanabees. YNWA

  • Red$4eva says:

Have faith dudes. As much as the media is creating anxiety among LFC fans amidst paranoia of seeing valued team members go out the door with few coming in we must realise that BR achieved much and recently with championship players. He knows what he’s talking about. Technically speaking this crop of players should and will perform. If they don’t well he’s shown the door to a few of the biggest signings so no ones too valuable. No ones more valuable than the system. If anything has let LFC down of late its a sheer abcence of a system of play other than talismanic players being put on a pedestal and knocked down when the going get tough. This guy is bringing in a team philosophy. He can make egos meld into one team I guess. Evidence: Our first real game Vs Gommel LFC played average with obvious absentees in attack and defence and we won away. Beginners luck or the rub of the green that favours grafters? Well i’d like to think BR is a grafter and the latter is the case. So hang in there comrades. Rodgers will deliver. Gommel at home want trouncing just to get the fans onside. Good luck peeps.

  • Turner says:

With a donkey (Carroll), a meek lamb (Henderson), a pair of mules (Downing & Adam) and the ever-present jackasses (Carragher & Lucas), the only football that Liverpool could dish out week in week out is hihi haha, the poorer cousin of tiki taka.

  • FACE FACTS says:

I think there will be GENIUS SIGNINGS AND LOANS before this month is over

  • nzuki nyakoi says:

what are we waiting for in order to sign?we are always waiting for the deadline so that we can be exploited…
