HERE at Live4Liverpool headquarters we’re joining in with all the manic madness that is Transfer Deadline Day, bringing you a LIVE blog (well, sort of), with all the latest rumours and confirmed comings and goings at Liverpool FC.

Brendan Rodgers hopes it will be a busy day, so let’s hope the club doesn’t disappoint.

Remember, it’s deadline day so anything can (but often doesn’t) happen – how many times have we signed Thierry Henry, or have people seen Jermaine Defoe in a taxi leaving John Lennon airport for Melwood over the years?

Keep checking back here and refreshing throughout the day for all your latest LFC transfer news below.

And to see what business other Premier League clubs are conducting, check out FootballFancast’s live ticker near the bottom of the page.

23:00pm: BONG!! Well, that’s all folks. A truly underwhelming deadline day that promised so much early this morning. One final bit of news is the Dani Pacheco deal fell through and he remains at LFC – at least someone has, eh!

22:33pm: Anfield exodus continues, even at this late stage, with Nathan Eccleston joining Blackpool (with Danny Wilson on-loan) whilst Dani Pacheco may also move on-loan to Valladolid

21:30pm: That’s that then. As earlier feared, Spurs look to have successfully stolen in on Clint Dempsey, who is at the North London club to agree terms. Not sure if ‘stolen’ is the right term, considering our transfer ineptitude…

21.10pm: FSG….calling FSG? Have the owners abandoned/backtracked on what was communicated to Brendan Rodgers if players were shipped out today? With just over an hour to go, seemingly so with the club reportedly failing to even match Villa’s earlier accepted proposal for Clint Dempsey: £5 million plus £2 million in add-ons at season’s end.

19:02pm: Fulham have rejected – yes, REJECTED – our bid for Clint Dempsey. The cheek of those Cottagers! A fee of around £5 million was reported, and surprise surprise, Tottenham Hotspur are now said to be sniffing around the US international.

18:54pm: So, the Daniel Sturridge ‘will he, won’t he’ still may, but probably won’t join Liverpool on loan as he was confirmed missing, then present, on the Chelsea bench for tonight’s Euro Supercup final. That clears that up then…

16:27pm: The Twitter hype machine is in overdrive with many now linking a sensational (would that be the word?) return to Anfield for…Yossi Benayoun!

14:50pm: Brendan Rodgers has just given his take on things that have happened today – and things that could happen:

“There are obviously a lot of people upstairs who are doing a lot of great work and working very, very hard. Let’s hope by the time it shuts later on that we’ve got some reinforcements. If we can get recognised goalscorers to come in, that’s the objective.”

On who those goalscorers could be, Rodgers pre-empted any forthcoming questions, though did dismiss the name of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar: “I don’t want to, out of respect for the other clubs and players, sit and go through every single name that has been linked with Liverpool, or this would be the longest press conference in the world.

“There’ll be hopefully one or two coming in.”

Rodgers also stated he doesn’t expect any further outgoings today, although Daniel Pacheco could be one to leave:

“I don’t believe many more will leave, if any. Daniel is one I’ve already spoken to. He is a young player who has been here for a number of years and now he needs to go out and play, so there is a possibility that Daniel will go out either on loan or on a permanent deal.”

13:11pm: Alleged LFC loan target Ibrahim Afellay has joined Schalke on a year-long loan from Barcelona. The Dutch international will be reunited with his former PSV coach Huub Stevens at the Bundesliga club.

12:51pm: Stoke City have completed the signing of Charlie Adam from Liverpool FC. The 26-year old joined for an undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of £4 million. Adam stated: “Hopefully, we can have a successful time together. I can do this Club proud and I’m looking forward to the chance of playing in front of their passionate supporters.”

12:15pm: Aston Villa have pulled out in their attempts to sign Clint Dempsey after having a £7 million bid accepted by Fulham. Dempsey refused the move however, insisting he only wants to move to Anfield.

10:44am: Jay Spearing has completed his switch to Bolton Wanderers on a season-long loan. “We are thrilled to bring in a player of his calibre,” stated Trotters manager Owen Coyle.

10:00am: Charlie Adam has arrived in Stoke to complete a medical ahead of a £4-5 million switch.

– Rumours now claim that Aston Villa may look to hijack any deal for Clint Dempsey.

09:51: What is this? “Look at me, look at me, remember me??!!” former striker Michael Owen seeks attention by taking to Twitter:

“I had two big European teams show an interest yesterday but my priority still remains to play in the Prem. We will see how the day pans out.”

Anyone care? No? Ok then…

8.00am: Liverpool are said to be interested in securing Daniel Sturridge’s services on-loan from Chelsea in the event Clint Dempsey cannot be signed.

07:45am: With funds apparently freed-up, the Reds will look to move for US international Clint Dempsey; however a fee of around £8 million will have to be paid.

Daybreak: Andy Carroll has left Anfield, moving on a season-long loan to West Ham United. The deal is worth £2 million, with a further £17 million being paid (making the transfer permanent) if the Hammers secure survival in the Premier League this season. The London club will also pay Carroll’s full wage during the initial loan period.

Jimmy Areabi (Editor) - @fantasista1077: Huyton raised like Steven Gerrard, football has been my passion since the time I received a Kenny Dalglish badge as a toddler, and I've followed the Reds ever since – something that was easier during the 80s, when I worshipped John Barnes! I've produced work for many football media outlets & am now happy to run a major site on the club I love - providing our fans with a voice, and to bring as much information and news on the club as possible.
Having played football all my life, I aim to continue longer than Stanley Matthews...
