Richards LFC targetACCORDING to reports from The Mirror, Liverpool FC may be poised to launch a summer bid for Manchester City defender Micah Richards.

The Reds are not the only team interested in Richards, however, with Arsenal, Real Madrid and Juventus keeping an eye on the 24 year old, along with French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Richards’ season has been plagued by injury, but City are not willing to let him go without a handsome fee of around £15 million.

Richards caught the attention of several clubs last season, when he was a strong contender for City’s Player of the Season and was a first choice right back for the club prior to injury. However, despite his impressive performances Richards does not seem to be in the running for first team action.

This exile has resulted in the interest surrounding him, though Liverpool seem to have the most prominent desire as Richards perfectly matches the credentials that Brendan Rodgers wants in his new, younger team.

Along with this, Richards’ ability to play in several defensive positions means that Liverpool would have acquired a player who is young, impressive and whose versatility could prove vital, with his ability to play in either right-back or centre-half.

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

Get over yourselves city fans. Even with billions behind you, you can’t build a lasting team. People in the middle east don’t have enough to eat yet their leaders pay footballers stupid money with their country’s wealth.

If U support City then you’re as much to blame a are moralless, blood sucking morons.

We have no intention of selling
You do not have the funds to buy him
A mid table team is no place for a player with his credentials and the promise of Champions League football with the Champions.
