European comments making fans yearn for Rafa’s return?

Rafa LFCAFTER showing signs of improvement Brendan Rodgers’s Liverpool side have slowly but surely fallen off.

Some of the more cynical fans may say they knew this day was fast approaching but I’m not sure many would’ve predicted goalless draws to West Ham and Reading.

The run in to the end of the season was supposed to be the easy part, with the schedule lightening up and a Liverpool side that finally seemed to be clicking. But then that all came crashing down.

Much has been made about the manager’s comments on Europe, and missing out. For me, this has changed my whole opinion of the man. Everyone is entitled to their own views but some views should be kept to oneself. As the manager of one of the most illustrious clubs in Europe I’m not sure Rodgers could have said anything more foolish, save for proclaiming Everton his favourite team.

The fans of Liverpool deserve better and it’s on the manager to lead them in the right direction and rally them around the team and a common goal. However, it appears that Brendan Rodgers does not share the same goal as the Liverpool faithful. Enter Rafa Benitez.

The Spaniards comments have been dissected almost every day since they were made and Brendan Rodgers was even compelled to state that he wasn’t worried about losing his job to Rafa.

For most of the season I was preaching patience, saying that Rodgers needed time to build his squad and implement his plan but after his recent comments I am not so sure I still feel the same way.

It isn’t certain that Rafa would bring instant success to Liverpool but he at least is a man who understands the Liverpool way. He understands the fans and the tradition and what the club should achieve. He was there in Istanbul when Liverpool raised the Champions League trophy after a memorable night. He knows how to win and he’s proven that he is capable.

It is unlikely that FSG will make a change to a man they skipped over last year but perhaps a change is necessary.

Brendan Rodgers has had his time and he hasn’t made good use of it. Couple that with, what in my view are disgraceful comments, and the circumstances are ripe for a change.

Ian Ayre said in a statement today that a transfer committee was responsible for signing sturridge and coutinho NOT Rodgers

Rodgers is just a yes man. We need a proper strong manager. Rodgers is clueless tactically and is not even a motivator

FsG don’t even trust him with the transfers ( after allen n borini who can blame them)

If there is any chance for a bright future : we must get Rafa back
Rodgers will ruin us if we don’t dump him

    GET RAFA HOME

Good article Andrew. I totally agree with you

  • Mark Henry says:

Rafa is a Anunnaki footballing God of a manager, Rogers out, he hasn’t got what takes to be a Liverpool manager. The majority do not want him @ the club.

  • Haris gerrard says:

Rafa definitely feels he still have some unfinished business at liverpool… With rodgers, he seems too obsess with stats be it possession or shots on goal… He look clueless most of the time… Rafa should be great for us… Fans will be right behind him… But till then we are stuck with rodgers so let’s just hope for the best for our club…

    • charlie says:

the best for our club is certainly not changing manager every season.

    • Raymond says:

rafa will certainly bring the league back to anfield but we should stick with BR for atleast another season and see if he can take us in the top 3 , looking at the way we played this season we should be able to achieve it only if we keep hold of our players and sign some 5-6 quality players

  • Prince says:

Lets give BR one more season n judge at the end of the coming campaign. If he does nt make the top 4, then its undibatable .he has to go.

  • Dave says:

I just want a decent manager and Rodgers is not one . We are going backwards under Rodgers . He really has been a huge disappointment

It was an experiment but he was never good enough or qualified for the job . It just shows we need a proven top manager whom the players respect

Rafa would be great , but he is not my first choice. Pelligrini or hiddink for me

Let’s stop this bluffing! Let’s remember what John Henry told Rodgers before the season started. He told him plainly that LFC will not pressurise him with a top4 finish this season. Why are you guys discouraging our manager. How many years did it take Fergie, Klopp and those other guys u call top managers to achieve success in the big clubs where they managed. Do u guys want Rodgers to play god? We must understand that ”huge success only comes with time”. Please, if u are a true LFC fan get behind Rodgers now and give him your support at least for one more season. Then we can judge him right. I’m pleading with humility and tears, let’s calm down. Liverpool is ours, Liverpool till I die, and I Will Never Walk Alone!!! Have faith!

    • jim says:

yes it took mancs’ coach time to build up his team , he took bold decisions at that time, sacking norman whiteside etc injecting discipline, BUT NOW THE CONTEXT IS DIFFERENT, THE TIME LIMIT HAS CHANGED , WE NEED A MANAGER NOT ONLY A COACH, RODGERS SHOULD HAVE ALREADY MADE AN IMPACT IN TERMS OF RESULTS.

      you can’t come along and pretend to change the whole style of a team like Liverpool in a competitive context as PL. HE WANTED US TO ACCEPT BEING THRASHED BY TEAMS LIKE WEST BROM TO JUSTIFY HIS SOI DISANT TIKI TAKA INSPIRED FOOTBALL;

WE ARE VERY PATIENT AND FAITHFUL TO OUR TEAM BUT I THNK WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF HIS PHILOSOPY

    • ime says:

      hey benzene
the time it took Frgie, klop to achieve trophies is not mordern football, it took the special one just the first season, if you continue to compare yourself with the worse, you will never achieve better, you will only be good or average. Liverpool is not mid table club, BR is a mid table manager material, this club deserves better. Especially with the resources committed this far, the worst he could do is CO Cup, he didnt even get close. We need Hinddik, he means business

  • Magic man says:

Im lost with some of the comments from these so called liverpool fans, that want to give this clown rodgers another season. Yes we play some nice football at times but its not getting us results at the end of the day. If you’re happy with this clown go support the team he’ll be with next year cause he dam wont be with us, you fools. Maybe you might even find him in a circus being the clown that he is. Rafa’s reds ynwa.

    • Howard says:

Excellent comment. The attitude of some of these ‘fans’ beggars belief

Somettimes I think maybe they are employed by Rodgers…such is their ridiculous attitude

  • bob says:

not sure if rafa would be my first choice…but rodgers is an atrocious manager….should never have got the job
